ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
ENDOCRINE
SYSTEM
The endocrine system has a similar job to the one of the
nervous system. The difference is that instead of using neurons to transmit
messages, the endocrine system uses hormones to
transfer information. In general, the endocrine system helps to maintain normal
hormone levels in the blood.
What is a gland?
Glands are small organs that produce chemical substances
called hormones to regulate our body. Glands are located all over the body. Glands
produce different types of hormones, for example mood, growth, metabolism among
others.

Your nervous system is
in charge of the movement and storage of all the information in your body. Your
brain sends and receives messages about what is happening in and around your
body through the central nervous system.
The brain is made of
millions of neuron cells; these are the smallest part of the nervous system
where the information is stored and move from one neuron to another.
