ENDOCRINE SYSTEM

ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
The endocrine system has a similar job to the one of the nervous system. The difference is that instead of using neurons to transmit messages, the endocrine system uses hormones to transfer information. In general, the endocrine system helps to maintain normal hormone levels in the blood.
What is a gland?
Glands are small organs that produce chemical substances called hormones to regulate our body. Glands are located all over the body. Glands produce different types of hormones, for example mood, growth, metabolism among others.
